About – OCS

“People do it everyday, they talk to themselves… they see themselves as they’d like to be, they don’t have the courage you have, to just run with it…” – Fight Club

Old Country Strong
Old Country Strong is the home blog of the Old Country Iron Club.
Being Old Country Strong is about honoring the fortitude of our forefathers, keeping it Old School, remembering that one is never to Old to begin the training, and acknowledging that our training is never truly complete.

Old Country Iron Club (Old Country I/C)
We started in a small Northwest garage but we wouldn’t stay there forever. Old Country Iron is a training method and ideology that is recognized and represented across borders. The original, current, and future path of the I/C is unchanging: spreading the good gospel of Old Country training.

Old Country I/C isn’t reworking the wheel, we simply work to train people how we use it. We’ve learned from some of the best Coaches and Instructors from around the world and here at home, drawing from their methodologies to create a truly unique, effective and comprehensive strength and conditioning program. While we never cease to better ourselves or our methods, what we have established is a training model that speaks for itself.

Our Goal is simple: Bring the art of Kettlebell and Barbell training and the joy of using them to every like-minded individual we can reach.

You can see the Old Country Training Method by visiting our LOG.

“The men and women who try to do something and fail are infinitely better than those who try to do nothing and succeed.”   Lloyd Jones

  1. Used to power lift with the old Pacific power lifters back in the late 80’s to middle 90’s. Willie Austin and all them. Have a small gym that focuses on functional fitness. It is great to see a gym from my old stomping grounds that has the same fitness outlook as we do. Also look at our face book page. We will have more as the year goes on. It is mostly fighters we train and some of our regular clients.
